ERATH COUNTY (September 12, 2016) — The Chalk Mountain Masonic Lodge will host its annual Motorcycle Fun Run this Saturday. The family-friendly fun run will begin at 10:30 a.m.  at Chalk Mountain Masonic Lodge 894 and will tour several back roads of Bosque, Hamilton and Erath counties.

Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the lodge, located at 327 CR 198 off of US Highway 67. The route will go through communities of Walnut Springs, Iredell, Carleton and Dublin for a total of about 120 miles. The ride will last about two and a half hours.

“We try to ride around Erath County, but we change it each year so people don’t get bored,” member Jerry Hudson said.

At the end of the ride will be a hot dog lunch along with cash drawings. The cost is a $20 donation per bike and a $10 donation per passenger. The proceeds will go to the Masonic Lodge and its charities.

“We primarily support the Three Way school district,” Hudson said. “We provide Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for families at Three Way. We donated money for the sound system. This past year we provided two $2,000 scholarships for Stephenville High School graduates who had gone through Three Way.”

Hudson said families are welcome to come and ride together.

“Anyone and everyone is welcome to ride.”
