(September 14, 2016) — Rodeo isn’t just about the saddles, buckles, animals and the journey to the next arena.

Rodeo is about the people – the cowboys and cowgirls, the queens and the legends.

A queen and a legend will be at the Bruner Motors Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealership in Stephenville Wednesday.

At 10 a.m., Jody Lee of Texas Homegrown Radio will join Miss Rodeo America Katherine Merck and ProRodeo Hall of Fame inductee Arnold Felts, the 1981 PRCA steer roping champion who qualified for the steer roping finals a most impressive 28 times, for a live interview that is open to the public.

While everyone is encouraged to attend the event live, you can also listen in by downloading the free Texas Homegrown Radio app in your Apple or Android app store.

It’s one of several events leading up to Bruner RAM Trucks Rodeo Heritage Week, preparing the community for the 47th annual Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo that has slack and events throughout next week and features live rodeo performances on September 23, 24 and 25.

The Rodeo Heritage Week will really pick up steam with the McCoy’s Mutton Bustin’ Competition, pony rides, dummy roping, music and much more in Stephenville City park beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday.
