TexAnns win third straight Western New Mexico Intercollegiate

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – TexAnn Golf shot 1-under par on the day to win the Western New Mexico Intercollegiate by 15 strokes at the Golf Club of Estrella.

Tarleton had scores of 297 and 287 to finish with a 584 (+8) in the two rounds. It’s the third straight season the TexAnns have won the Western New Mexico Intercollegiate.

Lydia Traylor led the TexAnn individuals by climbing 18 spots on the leaderboard to tie for third after carding a bogey-free round of 4-under par 68 on the afternoon. Traylor finished with a score of 144 (E) and had six birdies and 24 pars overall.

Beatriz Prados moved up five spots to come in fifth place with a score of 145 (+1). Prados was 1-under on the final day and had four birdies in the round, including finishing 3-under par on the front nine.

Casey Wild improved her score by nine strokes which allowed her to move up 36 spots to 13th with a score of 149 (+5). Wild shot 2-under par 70 on the day with four birdies. Breanna Smith finished in 33rd with a score of 153 (+9). Sarah Gee tied for 36th with a 154 (+10).

Tarleton will compete in the Dallas Baptist Invitational at the Golf Club of Dallas on Oct. 9-10.
