Bruner turns in blistering 15.04 to lead barrels

At the CCPRA rodeo more than 130 barrel races entered the competition to see who would emerge as the champion of the event on Sunday September 25, 2016 after the final performance.

Mary Burger from Pauls Valley, Oklahoma jumped into the early lead with a time of 15.29 seconds.  Michele McLeod from Whitesboro, Texas challenged Burger’s fast time, but fell just a bit short by turning in a time of 15.49 seconds.

Wrangler NFR Qualifier Sarah Rose McDonald from Brunswick, Georgia then turned in a fast run of 15.37 to move to second place.  Immediately after her run Martha Wright of the CCPRA Rodeo Committee and resident of Dublin, Texas ran the pattern in 15.38 seconds to move to third place.  In the same set of racers, Kelly Bruner from Millsap, Texas turned in a blazing time of 15.04 seconds to move everyone down and go to the lead.

Shelley Morgan from Canton, Texas ran a time of 15.33 seconds to move into the third place position, but it did not hold for long as the very next racer Paige Willis from Bristol, Florida was a time of 15.31 seconds.

Then along came Jane Melby from Burneyville, Oklahoma. She was 15.25 seconds and moved into the number two position behind Kelly Bruner. Not long after Melby’s run Jill Wilson from Snyder, Texas moved to second place with a time of 15.22 seconds.

After the slack performance, Kelly Bruner was in the lead with a time of 15.04 seconds.  She received the tub of OxyMax courtesy of OxyGen.  Second was Jill Wilson with a time of 15.22 and third was Jane Melby with a 15.25.
