Team roping led by two pair at 4.4 after slack

Editor’s Note: Following are the results from the team roping slack at the 47th annual Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo, which has its first full-scale performance at 7 this evening. Rodeo committee man Ben Clements on the recap:

STEPHENVILLE (September 23, 2016) — Rowdy Rieken from Arp, Texas and Wesley Johnson from Log Cabin, Louisiana took the early lead with a run of 4.6 seconds.  Caleb Smidt from Bellville, Texas and BJ Dugger from Three Rivers, Texas moved to second with a run of 4.8 seconds. Ty Blassingame from Raman, Colorado and heeler Cole Davison from Stephenville turned in a run of 4.4 seconds.  The very next team to rope was Chase Wiley from Charlotte, Texas and Arles Pearce from Washington, Texas were also a 4.4 to split the lead of the roping. Fifth in the roping so far is Dustin Egusquiza from Mariana, Florida and Clint Summers from Lake City, Florida.

The CCPRA Rodeo will resume tonight at 7 p.m. with the first performance.  It will be American Hero night at the rodeo and will feature an awesome opening, so be in your seats at 7PM.  If you cannot make it to the rodeo you can listen live to the Rodeo Radio Broadcast with the Texas Home Grown Radio App.  It is a free app, so download today to keep up.

The Twisted J Cowboy Capital of the World (CCPRA) Pro Rodeo is held at Lone Star Arena in STEPHENVILLE, Texas. Over the last few years, many changes have been made concerning the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo. The event has grown into one of the best rodeos in the entire county. For the second straight year, the CCPRA Pro Rodeo has been nominated for Medium-sized Rodeo of the Year in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Not only is it one of the top five events its size, PRCA members have recognized it as one of the 20 best out of more than 600 rodeos.
