Hico spikes Gustine, Gorman to stay unbeaten in 8-2A

(October 5, 2016) — Two more easy wins has Hico creeping closer to another perfect run through 8-2A district volleyball.

The Lady Tigers started their second loop through district play and improved to 8-0 in 8-2A, beating both Gustine and Gorman in three sets. The Lady Tigers blasted Gustine, 25-4, 25-4, 25-2, on Saturday, and cruising past Gorman, 25-11, 25-14, 25-8, on Tuesday.

The only team in the district that has pushed Hico beyond three sets was Hamilton, and the Lady Tigers beat their in-county rivals in four. Hico hosts De Leon at 4 p.m. Friday, having already swept the Lady Cats on the road.

Kaylee Roach had nine kills, Emily Jackson four kills and 17 assists and Marissa Warren seven kills in the blowout of Gustine. Moore then amassed 41 assists with Roach landing 12 kills, Shelby Polk 11, and Marissa Warren seven against Gorman.
