(November 4, 2016) — Windthorst used four sets to eliminate Hico from the area round of the Region I-2A volleyball playoffs in Breckenridge Thursday evening, 25-18, 27-25, 20-25, 25-18.
Hico, which finished the year with an impressive record of 30-8, won its second straight district championship with another 14-0 mark in 8-2A, then had a bye through the first round of the playoffs before meeting tradition-rich Windthorst.
The Lady Tigers were led in the season-ending loss by Kaylee Roach with 18 kills. Kaylee Moore amassed 62 assists, Emilee Jackson had four back row kills and Marissa Warren, Shelby Polk and Sydney Polk added three kills each.
The all-district team for 8-2A will be released once all teams are eliminated from the playoffs.
