STEPHENVILLE (November 17, 2016) – ESPN has announced its schedule for the 2016-17 NCAA Division II Basketball Showcase, which consists of Tarleton’s February 11 Lone Star Conference doubleheader against Angelo State in Wisdom Gym at 2 and 4 p.m.

The Worldwide Leader in Sports will be in Stephenville to broadcast the women’s game at 2 p.m. and the men’s game at 4 p.m. Both games will be carried on ESPN3, as well as WatchESPN.com and the ESPN app.

“Division II’s broadcast agreement will continue to highlight Division II student-athletes and their accomplishments on a national stage,” said Terri Steeb Gronau, vice president of Division II. “This is an exciting opportunity for men’s and women’s basketball student-athletes to demonstrate that they are not only great students and members of their community, but that they are truly skilled athletes as well.”

The Tarleton-Angelo State men’s basketball rivalry has developed into one of the nation’s best over the last two seasons. The Texans and Rams have met in each of the last two ‘Sweet 16’ rounds of the NCAA tournament with Tarleton coming out on top to advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. Meanwhile, the TexAnns were the only team in the Lone Star Conference to defeat Angelo State on the women’s side last year.
