STEPHENVILLE (November 22, 2016) — Stephenville relied again on its tenacious and relentless man-to-man defense, and once again, it delivered.

The Honeybees stymied Jacksboro, 45-37, Tuesday afternoon, improving to 4-0 on the season in their first game away from home. They are now idle until 6:15 p.m. next Tuesday, November 29, when they host 5A Aledo.

Hailey Martin scored 13 points and Jayci Morton 12 for the Bees, but again, the real story was defense. After limiting 6A Keller Fossil Ridge to just 40 points on Monday at Gandy Gym, the Bees went and allowed only 12 points in the first half at Jacksboro.

The Bees didn’t exactly light it up with 16 first-half points and a four-point margin at the break, and each squad scored 14 in a third quarter that ended with Stephenville clinging to a 30-26 advantage. But they won the fourth, 15-11, to remain unbeaten.

Ebony Green scored seven and Payton Wall six for Stephenville. Liz Pack added three, Jordan Carter two and Liz Pack two.
