STEPHENVILLE (November 29, 2016) – Several members of the First Christian Church of Stephenville had the opportunity to work at the Operation Christmas Child Distribution Center in Coppell on Saturday, November 26.  At this particular distribution center, 55,109 gift boxes were processed the day members were present.  The gift boxes at the location on that day were being sent to Mexico, Dominican Republic and Nigeria.  Information was provided by Priscilla Oglevie of Samaritan’s Purse.

The distribution center volunteers were blessed by getting to meet a young lady, Ranjita Kumar, who is now 22 years old.  Ranjita grew up in an orphanage in Southeast Asia.  Although she was an atheist, her birth family worshipped Hindu Gods.  Ranjita received an OCC gift box at the age of 7 while at the orphanage.  It was then that she was introduced to Jesus Christ and started reading the bible shortly thereafter.  She said that up until that time that she felt as though she was a bad person and had very low self-esteem.  Today, she is a Christian that loves Jesus Christ.

Today, she is a Christian and living in the United States.  She attends Dallas Baptist University and is the president for an international student group.  She teaches the Gospel to non-Christian students.  This year, Ranjita hosted her first shoebox packing party and they packed 17 gift shoeboxes.

A huge THANK YOU  to all the Erath County residents who participated and supported this wonderful and worthy cause.  So many children will be blessed with these gift shoeboxes.
