Delma Cox Mayfield, 94, of Stephenville, died Saturday, December 3, 2016, in Stephenville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 7th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Harry Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Clairette Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Delma was born on April 14, 1922 in Johnsville to the late Daniel and Lettie Parnell Cox. She married Forrest Mayfield on July 21, 1940 in Stephenville. Forrest preceded her in death on December 15, 1976. Delma was a member at Harvey Baptist Church, worked in the florist business, and retired after 20 years with Tarleton State University in Environmental Services. She was a homemaker, loved baseball, music, gardening, cooking, arranging floral pieces, and was quite active in arts and crafts.

Survivors include her two sons, Dwain and wife Teresa Mayfield of Stephenville and Larry Mayfield of Stephenville; daughter, Davonna and husband Walter Moegelin of Waco; brother, Wiley and wife Sandra Cox of Stephenville; grandchildren, Michelle Bentrum and husband Jason, Lisa Howard and husband Bob, Mike Moegelin and wife Susan, Margurite Stewart, Guy Bradford, and Ryan Bradford, Reed Mayfield and Will and wife Rachael Mayfield; great grandchildren, Alicia, Rachel, Tayler, Bobby, Joseph, Mitchell, Brad, Nathan, Ayla, Helen, Johnny, Katy, Conner, Megan, Brandon, Britan, Brody, Briley, and Emalee; and former daughter-in-law, Ellin Mayfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Delma was also preceded in death by two sisters, Vieta Cox Walker and Evelyn Cox Gildner.
