STEPHENVILLE (Decembrer 7, 2016) – Hailey Roberts and Jordyn Keamo added national honors to their impressive list of accomplishments when they were named All-Americans by the American Volleyball Coaches Association Wednesday morning.

“This is a great accomplishment,” said head coach Mary Schindler. “Before last year, we’ve never had a player even make the all-region team from the AVCA and now we have three All-Americans in the last two seasons. That says everything about what these two girls mean to our program and about their work ethic. I couldn’t be more proud of them and can’t wait to see what next year has in store for us.”

This week has already been a record one for Roberts after the junior outside hitter from Cedar Park was named the 2016 Ron Lenz D2CCA National Player of the Year. It also caps off a season in which she earned her second consecutive D2CCA Regional Player of the Year award, AVCA all-region, D2CCA all-American and all-region, and first-team all-conference.

Roberts, a junior from Cedar Park, leads the nation in kills (608) and kills per set (5.07) and led the TexAnns to their third straight NCAA regional tournament. Roberts also boasted 29 service aces, 368 digs, and 58 blocks.

This is the fourth All-American award for Roberts in her Tarleton career, which is a school record, and the second straight national award she’s earned from the AVCA, which is voted on by coaches from across the nation. Last year, she became the first TexAnn in school history to be recognized by the AVCA. She is now the first two-time AVCA All-American player in school history.

Meanwhile, Keamo capped off her debut season at Tarleton by earning honorable mention All-America recognition from the AVCA. This makes Keamo the second TexAnn in school history to earn All-America recognition from the AVCA.

Keamo, the LSC Setter of the Year and first-team all-LSC selection, boasted 1,279 assists for Tarleton this season and is top 5 in the nation in service aces with 71. She also had 15 double-doubles for the TexAnns this season.

In addition to her Lone Star Conference awards, Keamo was also a second-team all-region honoree by the D2CCA.

Roberts and Keamo led the TexAnns to 27 wins this season, which tied the school record for wins. Tarleton also advanced to the second round of the NCAA regional tournament to match the deepest playoff run in school history.
