STEPHENVILLE (January 14, 2017) — Twenty-eight years and 77 days ago, Tracy Guy buried a left corner 3-pointer at the buzzer and Tarleton State defeated Mary-Hardin Baylor, 72-71, at Wisdom Gym.

That was on November 8, 1988. That was the first game coached at Tarleton by Lonn Reisman.

Now 29 seasons and 627 wins into his legendary Tarleton State career, Reisman is aiming for his 400th home win inside the friendly confines of Wisdom Gym, where the Texans are 399-64 in 463 games. That’s a win percentage of .862.

Reisman and the Texans are 9-1 at home this season and have not lost more than twice at home in a season since 2008-09, the last time Tarleton missed the NCAA Division II playoffs. The Texans are 109-8 at home since the start of the 2009-10 season.

The 400th home win will likely come Saturday evening as the Texans host Arlington Baptist College at 7 p.m. Tarleton is 6-0 in the all-tie series with an average margin of victory of 45.2 points. Arlington Baptist, a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association is 8-8 on the year, is coming off a 91-83 win over Barclay College and is led by Cedric Carson at 13.4 points per game.

Tarleton is 14-2, ranked No. 13 in the Division II coaches poll and has four double-digit scorers – Ridell Camidge 16.4, Romond Jenkins 12.2, Chantz Chambers 11.4 and Deshawn Riddick 10.8. Two others are close, as redshirt freshmen Anthony Davis (9.6) and Josh Hawley (9.1) each average more than nine.
