Basketball playoffs top weekend sports slate

Huckabay and Kailin Dowell (from media library) are off to a 2-0 start to district play. The 14-3 Lady Indians are ranked No. 6 in Conference 1A by the Texas :Association of Basketball Coaches. Two of their three losses are to top 10 4:A and 2A opponents.

STEPHENVILLE (February 17, 2017) — High school girls basketball playoffs for Stephenville, Hico and Huckabay top the sports agenda, while Huckabay’s boys have a tie-breaker matchup on the hardwood. There is also a bevy of Tarleton Sports going on this weekend. Here’s the lineup:

High School Basketball (All Friday)
Stephenville girls vs. Brownwood, 6 p.m. at Hamilton (Region I-4A area playoff)
Huckabay girls vs. Blanket, 6 p.m. at De Leon (Region III-A area playoff)
Hico girls vs. Petrolia, 7 p.m. at Mineral Wells (Region II-2A area playoff)
Huckabay boys vs. Gorman at De Leon, 8 p.m. at De Leon (18-A district tie-breaker)
Stephenville boys vs. Brownwood, 8 p.m. at Hamilton (Playoff prep game)
