Roach, Warren lift Hico past Muenster into rematch with Windthorst

(February 18, 2017) — Kaylee Roach and Marissa Warren combined for 22 points in the fourth quarter and Hico went 25-31 from the foul stripe for the game as the Lady Tigers avenged a regular season loss with a 54-41 Region II-2A area playoff win over Muenster Friday at Mineral Wells High School.

Roach racked up 27 points and Warren finished with 15. They were a combined 16-19 from the foul stripe in the fourth quarter, when the Lady Tigers scored 25 points, more than twice any previous period.

Hico cruises into the regional quarterfinals for a rematch with a Windthorst team that eliminated the Lady Tigers last season. Windthorst beat Lindsay, 70-38, in its area playoff, led by Tatum Veitenheimer with 29 points.

Hico also picked up six pints from Emilee Jackson Friday, while Shelby Polk scored four and Kaylee Moore two.
