(February 25, 2017) – Former Tarleton basketball star Davene “Showtime” Carter is arguably the best dunker in Texan history. Now the former Harlem Globetrotter sensation has a chance to show he’s the best dunker in the world.
Carter has been selected to compete on TNT’s ‘The Dunk King’, which will air live nationwide after the conclusion of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals. The Dunk King is a reality competition series, offering players the opportunity of a lifetime. To make the leap from obscurity to celebrity and win $100,000, the website states. Carter is one of 24 dunkers selected after a series of try-outs to claim the final spots.
“Being on The Dunk King is a big opportunity for me,” said Carter “I’ve always had a love for basketball, but I also have always felt like I was a people person and crowd pleaser too. I’m hoping to use this platform to continue my basketball career.”
