(March 3, 2017) — Easton Jones fired a complete-game shutout from the hill as Stephenville beat Fort Worth South Hills in a 1-0 pitchers’ duel Thursday.

Caleb Gibbons got a hit and came around to score on an RBI by Aaron Abila in the fourth inning, and Jones and the Yellow Jacket defense did the rest.

Jones allowed just four hits and a walk while striking out six in the victorious effort. The junior needed just 104 total pitches, hitting the strike zone 65 times while facing just 27 total batters. The teams combined for just nine hits, all singles, with Stephenville earning five.

The Jackets visit Azle at 3:45 p.m. Friday.
