STEPHENVILLE (March 7, 2017) — Rebekah Proffitt will represent Lingleville at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Assocation state meet.

The senior Lady Cardinal, a multi-sport standout and homecoming queen, punched her ticket to state in the 105-pound weight class by lifting a total of 460 pounds, finishing second among 1A/2A lifters last weekend at reginoals.

Proffitt pushed up 170 pounds in the squat, pressed 90 on the bench and pulled 200 in deadliest.

“She’s just an outstanding young lady, and a great competitor,” said Lingleville coach Troy Sparks. “We couldn’t be more proud of Rebekah and we know she will go down to the state meet and represent Lingleville in a way that will make us all proud.”

The 1A-2A girls competition is set to begin at 8 a.m., Saturday, March 18, at the Extraco Events Center in Waco.
