Bramlett Implement, Stephenville’s hometown John Deere dealership, is gearing up for springtime and invites community members to its annual two-day Drive Green event, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1.

For the local dealership, 2017 marks more than 80 years of doing business in Erath County, and the Bramlett family has organized a family friendly good time, allowing attendees to take a test drive and enjoy a lunch catered by Boatman’s BBQ and ice cold refreshment from Dublin Bottling Works. Giveaways will also be held throughout the event.

Attendees who pre-register through the Bramlett Implement website will receive a free gift, and they can also register – in person – for a chance to win a national giveaway, which will award a 3E Series Tractor package later this year.

Drive Green offers a chance to test drive any of the units on the Bramlett Implement lot and ask questions of the local staff of professional John Deere salesmen and technicians, according to Tashli Wilson, dealership spokesperson and fifth generation Bramlett.

Wilson said anyone considering purchasing a lawnmower, compact tractor, utility vehicle (UTV) or any of an array of attachments should make plans to attend.

“There’s a common misconception among average consumers that John Deere is out of their price range, but the Drive Green event is the perfect time for them to come out and learn more about potential savings, the John Deere warranty and the value versus comparable brands,” Wilson said.

She said Drive Green attendees will get exclusive savings offers of $350 off $1,600 in attachments; $250 off a one- to six-family tractor; $150 off Gator RSX high-performance or XUV Crossover vehicles; $150 off any Z920M or Z915B/E Zero-Turn Mower; and $150 off at least $800 in attachments.

“This is the perfect time for everyone to come out and see what John Deere has to offer, especially anyone who has been thinking about getting a new piece of equipment but not quite ready to buy,” Wilson said.

The special coupon savings will be valid for a 30-day period, allowing consumers a little time to shop around.

Wilson also said Drive Green coupons can be combined with additional promotional offers for greater savings, and qualified buyers can receive 0% financing on compact tractors, interest-free financing for 60 months on 5 Series Tractors and 3.9% for 60 months on Gator UTVs through the promotional period.

“Bramlett Implement sales staff will work with purchasers to combine their Drive Green savings with other savings opportunities and promotional pricing,” Wilson said, adding that members of John Deere GreenFleet Loyalty Rewards program qualify for even greater savings.

“With GreenFleet, the more John Deere equipment a customer owns or purchases, the greater their discount,” she added.

The Bramlett Implement promise to customers doesn’t stop with savings. Wilson said warranty packages include a 6-Year Powertrain Warranty on compact tractors; 5 years on 5 Series Tractors and 2-year warranties on all turf (mowers) and UTVs.

For consumers who aren’t ready to fully go green, Wilson said Bramlett Implement has a full-line of compatible parts, which also come with savings opportunities and warranties – six months on over the counter on AG parts; 12 months on shop-installed Ag Parts; and six months over the counter and shop on turf parts.

“We have John Deere certified technicians on staff,” Wilson said. “The parts department has what you need when you need it. Bramlett Implement really is a one-stop shop.”

It’s also something community members have been able to count on for eight decades and through four generations of ownership.

Bramlett Implement History

The dealership’s history dates back to 1934 when it was started as Barbee Implement by D.R. Barbee, Donnie Bramlett’s grandfather who moved his horse and mule trading lot from Edna Hill, to a block south of the Dublin Dr. Pepper bottling plant.

D.R. Barbee became a John Deere dealer and sold his fist John Deere tractor in 1935.  A year earlier, Bramlett, Donnie’s father, purchased the John Deere parts department, while other family members continued running the other parts of the business. In the late 1940’s, the business included John Deere equipment, Pontiac cars, home appliances, butane gas, real estate and Hereford cattle.

In the 1950s, Don Bramlett bought the John Deere business, renaming it Bramlett Implement. He operated it Dublin until 1964, when Donnie became partner in the business.

Bramlett Implement bought and consolidated stores in Dublin, Stephenville and Hico and relocated to the corner of Highway 281 and 377 in Stephenville.  Don and Donnie operated the store together until 1974, when retired to the farm and ranch.

In the early 1980’s, Bramlett Implement built a new business on U.S Highway 377 South where it’s located today and underwent a complete renovation several years ago.

Todd Bramlett, fourth generation, joined the business in 1992, carrying on the family tradition of the father and son operation.

Bramlett Implement remains a family business where going green has been the way of life for more than 80 years.
