STEPHENVILLE (March 22, 2017) — Tarleton State University’s second Day of Giving kicks off at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, challenging participants to pay it forward for students.

Day of Giving is part of a full week of activities dedicated to the university’s core value of service. Week of Service kicks off Saturday, April 1, when students, faculty and staff help local residents with everything from washing windows to mowing lawns as part of a legendary event known as Round Up. On Thursday, April 6, students turn classroom learning into opportunities to aid others as part of Tarleton’s Service Day.

“Day of Giving is a way for the entire university family—including alumni, students, parents and friends—to show support for Tarleton,” said Development Director Jennifer Hawthorne. “There is no minimum donation. Gifts of any size are tax deductible and can be designated for any Tarleton college, program or organization.”

To donate online, go to www.tarleton.edu/givingday between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. To give in person, stop by the Barry B. Thompson Student Center on the Stephenville campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or the Alumni House from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Donations also can be dropped off at Tarleton’s outreach locations in Fort Worth, Midlothian and Waco.

“Day of Giving is an exciting time for Tarleton,” Hawthorne said. “It’s a great way to build community and student support through scholarships and programming.”
