Jenkins leads all scorers with strong double-double in all-star game

SIOUX FALLS, SD (March 24, 2017) – Romond Jenkins scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the NABC Reese’s Division II All-Star Game at the Sanford Pentagon.

Jenkins led the East team to a 125-114 victory over the West. Jenkins showed why he’s one of the top big men in the country, shooting a game-best 73 percent on 11-15 from the floor thanks to several high-flying dunks. Jenkins also made both of his free throws.

Jenkins had 12 points and eight rebounds in the first half and 12 points, seven rebounds in the second half in just 18 minutes of play.

The senior forward from Midwest City, Oklahoma helped lead the East team back from a 61-58 halftime deficit and outscored the West team 67-53 in the second half.

Jenkins, the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-Region selection, became the third player in Tarleton men’s basketball history to play in the NABC All-Star Game.
