FLASH STAFF REPORT

STEPHENVILLE (April 13, 2017) – A Mississippi based retailer with locations across Texas, and seven other states is setting up shop in Stephenville.

The local Dirt Cheap is moving into the Bosque River Center at 2900 West Washington Street where contractors were spotted making renovations to the building this week. The store will occupy the space that was previously home to Hastings.

Other North Texas Dirt Cheap locations include White Settlement, Denton and Allen, according to the corporate website. The first Dirt Cheap location opened in Petal, Mississippi in 1998, but the store was founded when a booming sister business in Hattiesburg Mississippi, Treasure Hunt, outgrew its warehouse.

The company stocks its shelves with markdown deals, offering inventory obtained through purchases related to insurance claims, manufacturer and retailer buybacks, closeouts, bankruptcies, overstocks, liquidations, customer returns and out of season goods.

The Flash has reached out company officials and will update this store with additional details when they become available.
