TexAnn golf ranked No. 2 in region

STEPHENVILLE — Tarleton is ranked No. 2 in the West Super Region rankings released by the NCAA Division II Golf Committee.

The TexAnns, who have been to 10 straight regional tournaments and have won the regional nine times, are ranked No. 4 in the nation according to GolfStat.com

Dallas Baptist is ranked first in the region, followed by California Baptist (3), St. Mary’s (4), Sonoma State (5), St. Edward’s (6), West Texas A&M (7), Academy of Art (8), Midwestern State (9), Chico State (10), Cal Sate Monterey Bay (11) and Simon Fraser (12).

The top 12 teams and six individuals not on regional teams advance to participate in the NCAA Division II West Super Regional on May 8-10 in Wichita Falls. The tournament field will be announced on May 1.

The TexAnns will compete in the Lone Star Conference Championships on April 24-25 in Frisco at the Frisco Lakes Golf Club.
