Marjy Ruth (Grimes) McCoy was born on October 9, 1927, to Joseph Marvin and Alice Belle (O’Neal) Grimes, in rural Ellis County. She lived most of her life in Stephenville, attending school in Rocky Point, Victor, Cordel, OK; Kansas, Tolar and Stephenville. She was a homemaker for many years and later worked as a secretary, bookkeeper, real estate agent, and home caregiver.

Marjy was a member of the Graham Street Church of Christ, a Christian woman who taught her family to ‘do what is right, no matter how hard it is’, and who always put other’s needs before her own.

Marjy is survived by one sister, Mary Alice (Grimes) Batchelor of Stephenville; son, Roy David McCoy of Granbury; and a daughter, Jerree and husband Larry Herrington of Stephenville; five grandchildren, Brent and wife Carla McCoy, Shawn McCoy, Greg Herrington, Marla and husband Todd Vineyard, and Lacy and husband Chad Gilley; nine great grandchildren, Victor McCoy, Nichole McCoy, Hailey Herrington, Danny Herrington, Chase Vineyard, Chelsi Vineyard, Creed Vineyard, Caroline Gilley, and Seth Gilley; three great great grandchildren, Ivy McCoy, Brody Renfroe, and Kase Mitchell.

Marjy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ulna, J. M., Redius, and Bob Grimes; her husband of 52 years, Floyd (Pug) McCoy in 1995; and one grandson, Joseph Floyd (Joey) McCoy in 1996.

The McCoy family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Graham Street Church of Christ Building Renewal; or Foster’s Home for Children.

The McCoy family expresses a deep gratitude for Dr. Jeffrey Moore, and the very caring staff at Mulberry Manor Nursing Home, Texas Health Hospital, and Solaris Hospice. Marjy was blessed by many caregivers, friends, and family before going to be with her Lord on May 2, 2017.
