Dublin’s Fowler, Teten earn special honors in 7-3A baseball

Dublin baseball coach Kellen Cervetto has led the Lions to back-to-back playoff appearances and has two special award winners and three first-team picks on the 7-3A all-district team.

(May 16, 2017) — Dublin’s progress on the baseball diamond under second-year head coach Kellen Cervetto is seen through back-to-back playoff trips, the first such stretch in program history.

And the forward surge of the Lions can also be seen on the 7-3A all-district baseball roster, with Dublin players staking claim to two special honors and three first-team spots following a vote of the league’s head coaches.

Senior Bryson Fowler is 7-3A pitcher of the year while junior Tim Teten is the league’s defensive MVP to headline the the Dublin awards. Senior infielder Brayden Burleson, who will play in June on a Big Country FCA all-star team coached by Cervetto, was one of three Loins to crack the first-team all-district lineup. He’s joined by junior outfielder Josh Hanes and junior catcher Rayce Jackson.

The respect for Dublin didn’t stop there, with sophomore pitcher Jacob Owen, senior first baseman Brady Moore, junior infielder Jeremiah Martinez, senior outfielder Trask Brown and junior designated hitter Keith Wright clawing their way into second-team spots.

Internally, Dublin has also declared its team award winners: MVP – Jackson, Offensvie MVP – Teten, Defensive MVP – Brown and Pitcher of the Year – Fowler
