Eaves wins in Kansas while Diaz, Crawley tie at Bandera

(May 29, 2017) — Paul Eaves won a team roping at one PRCA stop last week, while Isaac Diaz and Jacobs Crawley shared the top spot in saddle bronc riding at another rodeo.

Eaves and header Clay Smith roped head and heels in 5.4 seconds to win the team roping at the Beef Empire Days PRCA Rodeo in Garden City, Kansas. Patrick Smith of Lipan and his heading partner, the legendary Trevor Brazile, tied for third in 5.7 seconds. Eaves was awarded $2,893 and Patrick Smith $1,980. Another local Smith also fared well in Garden City, as Stephenville tie-down roper Sterling Smith stopped the clock at 9.2 seconds for second place and $1,566.

Back in Texas, Diaz and Crawley each scored 83 points for top honors and $954 each at Bandera Pro Rodeo. Diaz conquered Orange Crush and Crawley stayed on past the horn on Black Bart. Both broncs are from Rafter G Rodeo.

Crawwley was also sixth with 81 points at the Will Rogers Stampede in Claremore, Oklahoma. Stephenville heeler Martini Lucero and heading partner Chase Wylie were fifth in the team roping there for $820.
