Home Rule has been part of the Texas Constitution since 1876. It has been under assault by Gov. Abbott and the State Legislature for over two years. In August of 2016 Gov. Abbott addressed the Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute and made his intention clear when he said, “One strategy would be for the State of Texas to take ‘rifle shot after rifle shot after rifle shot’ approach to try to override all these local regulations. I think it would be far simpler, and frankly easier for those of you who have to run your lives and your businesses on a daily basis, if the state of Texas adopted an overriding policy to create certain standards that must be met.”

A week or so ago Gov. Abbott called for a special session of the legislature to address 20 pieces of legislation and at least 7 of them are written to eliminate or weaken Home Rule.  This action would continue his agenda to “fire rifle shot after rifle shot after rifle shot” to eliminate Home Rule.

Gov. Abbott and the Legislature must be stopped and they can be stopped if Democrats and like-minded Republicans let them know that Home Rule should be protected, not destroyed.

  1. It is not as simple as he states, the Vegas element comes with the uncertainty of who owns the casinos from month to month, a big majority of casinos in Vegas are owned by China and other foreign countries, many of the other casinos are partly owned by the same! You never know when they sell to someone else, what a perfect way to infiltrate our Great State! There is another way, but unless you have billions of dollars no one will hear about this plan! I’m forwarding a copy of this plan.
If you have questions please call me at 469-853-7749.

    Thank you!

I will keep this short, first, you are doing an excellent job, your passion for Texas gave me the courage to send you my plan to give Texans a choice when they are deciding on Destination Gaming! I don’t want the “Vegas” element in Texas, we don’t want to be another Vegas, Texas is different than any other state, and our people are different, we Love Texas, and we have everything here and we don’t need anybody, especially Vegas! Our plan is based on, if we’re going to have gaming, it needs to be on our terms, and it does not need to be owned and operated by a handful of billionaires in Texas and Vegas!
Let’s build 7 Destination Resorts on 7 Texas International Airports! Let’s partner with 2 or 3 of the extremely successful Tribal Nation Casinos, I have worked with tribal casinos all over the country for over 22 years, and Oklahoma has 3 of the best operators in the world.
Let’s face it Oklahoma could and would go with us if we decided to secede from the rest of the country! LOL Building on airport land would mean more money for our cities, the State, more minority jobs, and with tribal operators we would control the gaming! The Las Vegas Sands and other Commercial brands change ownership every other day, Texas would be owned by China, Russia, Vegas, etc….
Tribal Nations care about the same core values that we do, to be honest they take much better care of their own, than most of the world! They wouldn’t sell anything to unfriendly foreign countries! This should make you smile, we would make the bulk of our money from passengers from all over the world! I have talked to the airports and they are onboard, the tribal operators are onboard, I have research, stats, creative ideas, etc…. We would love to talk to you if you have any questions! I just want our Bill to get sponsors and get submitted in the current session, let’s give everyone a choice!!! I am attaching a copy of the Legistration that we are proposing!
