STEPHENVILLE (July 18, 2017) – At Tarleton there exists a poster made by an adoring fan that was more popular than any among the student seating at Texan basketball games. It read: If you want to win, put Chico in!

The National Assocaiton of Basketball Coaches must want to win, because they have put Jacob “Chico” Morales in, figureatively, speaking as part of the NABC Honors Court for academic excellence.

Morales, a four-year member of the Tarleton men’s basketball team, was selected to the NABC Honors Court last season as well. Morales graduated in the spring semester with a degree in Kinesiology. Morales played in a career-high 21 games as a senior.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The student-athlete has to academically be a junior or senior with a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2016-17 academic year.
