James Albert Wilson, born on July 1, 1942, to parents Harris and Paula (Ray) Wilson in Johnson City, Texas. James passed away August 4, 2017, at age 75 in Hico, Texas.

James loved guns, fishing, and mechanics. James spent 20 years in service to his country earning the Bronze Star before retiring from the US Army.

Preceding James in death were his parents and wife of 52 years, Soila Wilson.

Surviving James are five sons, James Wilson, Jr., Robert Wilson, Bobby Wilson, Steven Wilson, Michael Wilson, two brothers, David Wilson, and Marrion Wilson. James is also survived by step father, Melvin Ray, grandchildren Jayson, Tommy, Gracie, Sammy, Jessica, Tanner, Daisy, Dustin, Colton, Justin, Ashely, Anthony, Brittany, Amy, Amber, Chelsie, Destiny, MJ and great-grandchildren Hailey, Kason, Addie, and Bryeson.

  1. Sorry to hear of Willies passing, I considered him an example of the finest NCO in the Army. I was his CO in 8th I.D. in Germany he served as my 1st SGT and as a competitive rifle shooter. HE WAS VERY GOOD AT BOTH. I confess, I offered an advancement in grade if he would Re-up. He turned it down tho and wanted to go home. Several years later I visited him at the peanut mill, he seemed happy and was gracious. I expect I will see him again in the Heavenlies.
