ERATH COUNTY (September 7, 2017) – The Erath County Crime Stoppers will begin selling tickets for their “50 Guns in 50 Days” fundraiser, co-sponsored by Star Arms, on Friday, September 8.

Tickets are $50 each for a chance to win a gun each day for 50 days from Star Arms.

“Only 1,000 tickets will be printed and once all of the tickets are sold, the drawing for the winning numbers will begin,” said Barry McNellie, president of Erath County Crime Stoppers. “Ticket holders will be notified via email of the start date for the drawing. “

In 2015, proceeds from the 50 Guns in 50 Days fundraiser allowed ECCS to purchase investigative cameras for the Stephenville Police Department, Erath County Sherriff’s Office and Tarleton Police Department. Last year’s event proceeds helped purchase an incinerator to dispose of drug evidence collected by all area law enforcement.

“We truly appreciate the support from our community through ticket sales which enable us to assist our local law enforcement agencies,” said Julie Crouch Smith of ECCS.

The daily winners are based on the exact order of the Texas Lottery Pick 3 numbers drawn each day at noon from Monday through Saturday.  Ticket holders may win multiple times throughout the event.  Area ticket outlets include Bradberry’s Best Feed Store, Dowell Ace Hardware, Hay and Feed Ranch, Silver Wings Boutique, Taylor Feed, Texstar Ford, and Star Arms.  Tickets may also be purchased online at www.erathcountycrimestoppers.com.

Winners will be notified by phone and may pick up their gun at Star Arms if their number matches the daily winning numbers per the Texas Lottery Pick 3 at noon.

“The name listed on each raffle ticket must be able to pass NCIS background check,” said Monte Montes of Star Arms. “The winning tickets can be used for the guns, but the tickets have no cash value.”
