STEPHENVILLE (September 9, 2017) – The 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance Project and Ceremony was made possible by a grant awarded to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 240 from the National American Legion Auxiliary in cooperation with the Corporation for National and Community Service.

The purpose of the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance is to mobilize more Americans to engage in service activities that meet vital community needs and honor the sacrifice of those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, or who rose in service as a result of that tragedy.  The ALA Unit 240 service is to improve the historically significant American Legion Post 240 facility by refurbishing some of the interior rooms and providing a beautification of the south entrance to the building.
