TexAnns drop pair to top tier competition

(September 10, 2017) — Tarleton State (5-3) took on some of the toughest competition Division II volleyball has to offer Saturday in the Colorado Premier Challenge, and premier challenge those opponents proved to be indeed.

Unfortunately, one of them is stands between the TexAnns and their goal of winning the Lone Star Conference championship, though this match does not effect those standings at all.

No. 2 Southwest Minnesota State beat Tarleton in four sets, 27-25, 25-15, 21-25 and 25-17, to open the Gold Bracket the winners of four pools, which played off on Friday. The TexAnns then faced LSC nemesis and No. 6 Angelo State in the consolation match – the Rambelles had lost to No. 1 Concordia-St. Paul in the other Gold semifinal – and ASU won in straight sets, 25-15, 25-20, 25-20.

Tarleton visits Dallas Baptist at in a non-conference match at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
