Stephenville – A gathering of friends and family will begin at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Saturday, September 30, 2017 with services following at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

Jim was raised on a farm in Huckabay, TX where he attended the Methodist church and Huckabay school until his sophomore year. Jim moved to Stephenville with his family and graduated in 1968. He later attended Tarleton State College. He married / divorced D. K. Galbreath and they had one daughter, Jessica. Jim moved to Houston and had a successful Dunkin’ Donut franchise in the ’70s and 80’s. He moved to Oklahoma City in the late 80’s and remodeled houses until his return to Stephenville in 2010.

Jim lived his life on his terms, sometimes it worked in his favor, other times it did not…nonetheless, it was on his terms. He was an avid reader and wrote many poems.

Jim attended the St. Luke’s Episcopal church where he drew much comfort and peace of mind.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Max & Jain Moon, and his brother Charles Matthew Moon.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Jessica, her husband, Jason, their two daughters, Jade and Jillian, all from Granbury, Texas, his brother John and his wife Lisa Moon, his brother, William and his wife Martha Moon; nieces: Elise Moon, Melissa Griffin, Ruth Ellen Bridges and Emma Moon, nephew Robby Moon and multiple other family members and loving friends.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 595 N McIlhaney St, Stephenville, TX 76401.
