Joyce Abel born March 11, 1934 to parents Elam and Carrie (Davis) Berna, passed away in Graburr, Texas on September 14, 2017. Joyce and her husband George enjoyed farming and raiding cattle. Joyce enjoyed taking care of the residents at the Village Nursing Home where she was the medication aide and was also an employee of the month. Joyce enjoyed her family gatherings and playing cards. Joyce was a graduate of Hico High School. Preceding Joyce were her parents, husband George Abel, and brothers, Donald Ray Berna, Jerry Don Berna and Elam Berna, Jr. Joyce is survived by her sister, Bernice Berna Proffitt and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family members and friends.
Service Information
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, September 16, at the Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico. Chapel services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Harvest Hills Chapel. Burial will follow in the Fairy Cemetery.
