AT A GLANCE
Tarleton will have a run of three road matches over the next three days, beginning with a 6 p.m. match at Dallas Baptist Thursday night. The TexAnns, who have been in tournament mode for the first two weeks of the season, will transition to single-match mode moving forward. Tarleton will take on DBU Thursday before starting Lone Star Conference action Friday night at Texas Woman’s at 7 p.m. and visiting Texas A&M-Commerce Saturday at 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The TexAnns finished fourth at the most prestigious NCAA Division II volleyball tournament in the country, the Colorado Premier Challenge, last weekend. Tarleton opened the tournament with its third win over an AVCA Top-25 team by defeating No. 16 Central Oklahoma in four sets before dropping three straight matches to close out the tournament – the last two against national top-10 opponents, No. 2 Southwest Minnesota State and No. 6 Angelo State.
 
IN THE NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT
Tarleton Volleyball continues to soar to new heights in the national spotlight as the TexAnns climbed three spots to No. 14 in the latest national poll by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Tarleton’s first national ranking came in the final poll of the 2016 season when the TexAnns debuted at No. 25. They have been ranked in every release since – opening the season at No. 25, moving to No. 17 last week, and No. 14 this week.
 
SERIES HISTORY: DALLAS BAPTIST
Tarleton and Dallas Baptist have been meeting on the volleyball court for 35 years, since the first meeting in 1982. The TexAnns own a 36-6 all-time lead in the series and have won four straight meetings, dating back to 2013.

SERIES HISTORY: TEXAS WOMAN’S
Tarleton and Texas Woman’s have 54 games in their rivalry, dating back to 1978. The TexAnns have won 21 of the 54 meetings and have a 7-15 record against the Pioneers in Denton. Tarleton has won four straight in the series since the start of the 2015 season.

SERIES HISTORY: TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE
Tarleton and Texas A&M-Commerce have met 37 times since 1984 with, all but the inaugural meeting in 1984, coming as NCAA rivals. The TexAnns hold a 19-18 edge in the all-time series, but the Lions won the last meeting in Commerce last year.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will stay out on the road for one more match before coming home as the TexAnns head to No. 5 Angelo State Wednesday, September 20 at 6 p.m. at the Junell Center.
