BELTON (September 15, 2017) — For a few fleeting moments early in the second quarter, Jacob Stanley gave Dublin life with a 84-yard kickoff return for a touchdown cut Teague’s lead to just seven.

But Dublin couldn’t sustain any offense while Antonio Heard and Teague were just offensive.

Heard rushed for a touchdown and a pair of two-point conversions, caught eight passes for 119 yards and a score and on four punt returns and a kick returns he collected another 122 yards. He finished with more than 250 all-purpose yards and scored 16 points to lead Teague (2-1) to a 57-7 win over Dublin (0-3) at University of Mary Hardin Baylor.

Zack Satterwhite passed for two scores and rushed for two. He was 13-21 for 152 yards through the air and added 53 yards on seven carries. Gelico Green scored twice while rushing for 110 yards and Tayvis colleen ran for 94.

Dublin struggled to move Teague back running the ball, instead moving back 46  yards itself. The negative 46 rushing total is misleading though. The Lions did still run for a paltry negative one yard, but the stat looks worse because of 4 lost yards on team carries.

It was better through the air. Josh Hanes was 8-16 passing for 63 yards while Cy Wing came in to go 3-6 for 47 yards. Tyshon Hopkins hauled in four receptions for 50 yards.

Special teams, despite Heard’s 24.4 yard combined average on punt and kick returns, were a strength for Dublin. In addition to Stanley on the highlight-reel kick return, Gabriel Renteria averaged 40 yards per punt, and he had to maintain that average through seven attempts, not just your topical three to five.

Dublin finished with 54 yards of offense because of its rushing woes. Teague used 64 snaps to roll up 491 total yards, taking advantage.

Dublin faces Breckenridge next week, wit the Lions hoping to show the offensive prowess they did at Albany – where Hanes passed for more than 300 yards – but without the turnovers that led to the losses at Alabany and giants Teague, as they fumbled 13 times in those games, losing eight of them.

Breckenridge is 0-3 with losses to Cisco, Mineral Wells and most recently to Eastland, 34-7, last Friday.
