(September 18, 2017) — It was upset Saturday in the Lone Star Conference over the weekend, when No. 14 Tarleton State joined No. 5 Angelo State in suffering stunning losses in their second matches of LSC play.

Texas Woman’s stunned Angelo State in five sets after falling to Tarleton in four Friday evening. Unfortunately, the TexAnns could not take advantage of an opportunity to get an early leg up on the Rambelles, falling in dramatic fashion to Texas A&M-Commerce at The Field House.

Both the fourth and fifth sets took extra points, and the first and second were also tight. TAMUC pulled off the upset, 25-23, 21-25, 25-18, 27-29, 19-17.

The TexAnns visit ASU at 7 p.m. Wednesday in a battle of nationally-ranked squads, the reigning top two finishers in last season’s LSC standings and the top two in this season’s LSC preseason poll. Tarleton and the Rambelles are also the only LSC schools ranked in the top 25 by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Here are stats from Tarleton’s match on Saturday:
