Joy Lynn (Little) Hankins was born July 14, 1943 to parents G.W. (Chock) and Maxine Crow Little, went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2017. Throughout her long hard battle against cancer, she kept her faith in God and tried to keep a good outlook. She had a large prayer backing of family and friends whom she loved and was so thankful for.
Joy and her husband, the love of her life, Roy Hankins, began their life together in August 1980. They made their home in the Chalk Mountain area. Joy attended Hico Public Schools for 12 years, graduating in 1961. She was employed by United/Sprint Telephone Company for 18 years, as well as being a bookkeeper for C & W Machine and RO-JO Dairy, both businesses owned by her and her husband.
Preceding Joy in death were her parents; infant son, Jim Everett Tolliver; brother, Dee Armstrong; and nephew Glen Prater.
Survivors include her husband Roy Hankins; daughter Lynette Ratliff of Chalk Mountain, step-daughter, Bonnie and Steve Hawkins of New Jersey; son Leslie and Pam Hankins of Hico; stepson, Danny Hankins; brother Lee and Anne Armstrong of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Seth Hankins, Jessica Goodson, Charles Ratliff, Dakota Hankins, Kaylah Hankins, Dustin Hankins, Faith Hankins and Grace Hankins.
Also surviving Joy are niece, Sharon and Robert Emerick of Midlothian; nephew, Jeff and Victoria Armstrong on Oklahoma City; great nephews, Daniel Armstrong and Michael Armstrong of Oklahoma City; great great-nephews, Alex Armstrong and Aaron Armstrong of Oklahoma City; special cousin Sue Burgan of Hico, and a host of other cousins and friends.
Visitation 6-8pm, Tuesday October 3rd, at Harvest Hills Funeral Home, Hico, Texas.
Funeral Services 2:00pm, October 4th, at Harvest Hills Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Dittfurth officiating, burial to follow at Hankins-Terry Cemetery in the Glen Rose area. Pall bearers, Mark Burgan, CB Burgan, Terry Lane, Joe Tooley, Jeff Wells and Bubba Hankins.

Service Information

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Harvest Hills Funeral Home. Chapel services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, at Harvest Hills Funeral Chapel, located at 118 Second Street in Hico. Burial will follow in Hankins-Terry Cemetery, located at 1792 FM 203 in Glen Rose.
