Barbaroux wins two for Tarleton tennis at ITA regional

MIDLAND (October 5, 2017) – Tarleton Tennis continued its fall slate at the ITA South Central Regional Championships.

Alicia Barbaroux advanced three rounds deep into the championship bracket as the sophomore from France defeated rivals from Colorado State-Pueblo and Texas A&M-Kingsville, including an 11-9 thrilling tiebreak in the second round, before ultimately falling in the round of 16 to Metro State’s Tabitha Porter.

Freshman Neetika Sud also advanced into the championship bracket with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Newman’s Niamh Packer. Sherine Salem bounced back from a loss to defeat Kali Hamilton of CSU-Pueblo in the Consolation bracket.

Salem and Sud also teamed up for an 8-3 win in doubles against UT Permian Basin whileShelby Fillingame and Tori Simmons earned a doubles win in the first round of consolation doubles with a 9-8 [3] victory over DBU.
