Midnight Madness begins new season of hoops at Tarleton

STEPHENVILLE (October 10, 2017) – One of Tarleton’s most anticipated events of the year is back.

Midnight Madness comes to Wisdom Gym Saturday night after Tarleton football hosts Eastern New Mexico at 2 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. The doors to Wisdom Gym will open at 11:15 p.m. and fans can enjoy performances by the Texan Stars, Tarleton Cheerleaders, and Foul Play: The Tarleton State University Basketball Band.

Tarleton Athletics will also be giving away 300 free T-Shirts to fans and giving one lucky fan the opportunity to shoot a half-court shot for free tuition and fees for the Spring 2018 semester.

Following the festivities, the Tarleton women’s and men’s basketball teams will take the court after the clock strikes midnight to signify the official beginning of the NCAA College Basketball season. Both teams are coming off trips to the NCAA regional tournament last season and the TexAnns begin their defense of last year’s LSC Tournament title.

Tarleton’s women will begin their season with an exhibition against Big XII and national power Baylor University in Waco on Tuesday, October 31 at 7 p.m. The men’s team will make a trip to College Station for an exhibition against Texas A&M University in the 100th year of Tarleton being in the TAMU System. The Texans and Aggies will tip off November 3 at 6 p.m. at Reed Arena.
