STEPHENVILLE (October 11, 2017) —- Students from the Cross Timbers Area will join thousands more at athletic fields across the nation on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, to share their Christian faith with fellow students during the 14th annual national Fellowship of Christian Athletes Fields of Faith event.

This rapidly growing, interdenominational outreach event will be held at more than 500 locations nationwide, including in Stephenville at Lem Brock Field on Frey Street adjacent to Henderson Junior High.

Fields of Faith is structured as a student-to-student ministry. Peers invite their own classmates and teammates to meet on their school’s athletic field to hear fellow students share their testimonies and more.

“In the Cross Timbers Area, we have many small school districts. Having one large gathering in Stephenville allows our students to see the bigger picture,” says Cross Timbers Area FCA Representative Carrie Normand.

This will be the 9th Fields of Faith event for the Cross Timbers Area. Last year, approximately 1,500 attended at Tarleton’s Memorial Stadium.

Since the beginning of Fields of Faith in 2004, more than a million people have joined the movement. In 2016 alone, more than 192,000 students gathered on 519 fields, where 7,414 made first-time faith commitments, 8,612 recommitted their lives to Christ, and 8,781 committed to reading their Bible.
