(October 13, 2017) — No. 15 Tarleton State took care of business in the brief absence of three-time All-American outside hitter  Hailey Roberts, then six days later issued yet another reminder how much better they are when they do have the 2016 NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association National Player of the Year.

A slip and fall on a wet floor cost Roberts one match, but in the end, all it really did is slow her chase of the Lone Star Conference all-time kills record. She was back to doing Hailey Roberts things Friday evening, collecting 18 kills and 7 digs in a 25-17, 25-15, 25-13 sweep of Eastern New Mexico.

The TexAnns won their ninth straight match and take that streak to Western New Mexico on Saturday. It’s a rare Saturday evening affair with first serve at 7 p.m. for fans following from Stephenville and throughout the Central time zone. it’s 6 p.m. in Silver City, New Mexico, where the elevation is more than 6,000 feet.

Fresh off her second LSC defensive player of the week honor, Amber Strange contributed 7 kills and 5 blocks, as Tarleton posted a .263 attack percentage to .035 for ENMU. The TexAnns had 40 kills to 21 by their hosts, an effort quarterbacked by All-American setter Jordyn Keamo with 25 assists.

Adrianna Knutson made six digs for Tarleton, which has won seven straight and 19 of its last 21 against ENMU. The other streak of now nine consecutive wins is three shy of the school record. Tarleton won 12 consecutive matches in 1991.
