Floyd Russell Olsen 

Graveside services for Floyd will be held at Cottonwood Cemetery, October the 18th at 1:00 P.M.

Floyd Russell Olsen, 76, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 15, 2017. He was born on June 29, 1941 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was the son of Edward Olsen and Virginia (Ferguson) Olsen.

Floyd served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired truck driver. Floyd married Virginia (Matthews) Olsen in June of 1986, in Tennessee, and together they raised six children. He was a great husband, Dad, and Paw – a gentle, soft-hearted Teddy bear.

He was preceded in death by his mom & dad – Edward & Virginia Olsen; his sister – Patricia Jean King; his daughter – Tracy Annette Olsen; and his granddaughter – Mikayla Lee Baker.

Floyd will be remembered by his wife – Virginia Olsen of Dublin, Texas; his sons – Michael & Debbie Noel of Dublin, Texas and Jimmy Olsen of Dallas, Texas; his daughters – Rose Baker of Dublin, Texas, Deborah & Randy Smith of Arlington, Texas, and Shannon & Kevin Summers of Hewitt, Texas; his grandchildren – Michael Olsen and wife Lindsay, Andrew Deteau and wife Ruby, Robert Deteau and wife Jessica, Nicole Baker, Isaac Noel, Quincy Summers, Angel Summers, Kaylee Summers, Spencer West, Sean West, John Paul Claunch and wife Stephanie, Paula Claunch, Cindi Williams and husband Chad; his great grandchildren – Brittany, Alex, Emily, Graysen, Kiran, Shelby, Rhyder, Cameron, Kiyah, Gunnar, Paige, Cash, Joshua, Erik, Amber, Noah, and Trinity; his brothers – Jack Olsen of Florida, Chuck Olsen of Florida, Gerry Olsen of Michigan; his sister – Marty Blodgett of Florida; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
