THE GAME
The 50th season of Tarleton TexAnn Basketball officially gets under way at the F&M Bank TexAnn Tip-Off Classic in Wisdom Gym this weekend. Tarleton will open the season Friday night with a 5 p.m. game against Western State (CO) and will close out the tournament Saturday night at 5 p.m. against St. Mary’s.GAME PROMOTIONS
Friday night is ‘Student Organization Night’ at the basketball games. All on campus organizations are encouraged to come out and promote their organizations. In addition to them being recognized on the video board during the game, there will be pizza and free T-shirts on Rudder Way prior to the games courtesy of the Division of Student Affairs. Also, with both basketball teams and TexAnn volleyball playing at the same time, anyone who purchases a ticket for one of the events will be granted to access to watch all of them.

A complete radio and video broadcast of the game can be heard and seen on the Tarleton Sports Network presented by the North Texas Ford Dealers. TICKET INFORMATION
The Tarleton State Ticket Office is open from 1:30-4 p.m. in the main lobby of Wisdom Gym and can be reached by telephone at 254-968-1832. Cash, check, and cards are all accepted. Tarleton’s Stephenville Campus Students receive free admission to all home games with valid Stephenville Campus Student ID.

A LOOK BACK AT LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton played two exhibition games last week in preparation of the season. The TexAnns dropped their first exhibition to NCAA Division I No. 3 Baylor Tuesday night before coming home and taking care of Texas Wesleyan 90-60 in an exhibition at Wisdom Gym Saturday. Tarleton had five players score in double figures against Texas Wesleyan, led by Mackenzie Hailey with 14 points and eight rebounds.

INSIDE THE SERIES: WESTERN STATE
Tarleton and Western State have met two previous times in their history, which began in 1993. The TexAnns are 2-0 all-time against the Mountaineers, including a 52-37 victory in a Florida tournament in 2016.

INSIDE THE SERIES: ST. MARY’S
Saturday will mark the 20th all-time meeting between the TexAnns and Rattlers since 1979. St. Mary’s holds a 14-5 lead in the series, including wins in each of the last four meetings. Tarleton’s last win against St. Mary’s was an overtime win to open the 2013 TexAnn Tip-Off Classic.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will head to Denton next weekend for two-day tournament at Texas Woman’s. The TexAnns will open the tournament against Central Oklahoma Saturday and close it out against Regis Sunday. Both games will tip off at 2 p.m.
