(September 22, 1988 – November 20, 2017)

The family of Nathan Wallace Leamons created this Life Tributes page to make it easy to share your memories. So share a memory below because a comforting word from you means a lot.

On November 20, 2017, Nathan Wallace Leamons, age 29, passed away in Hico after a 1 1/2 year struggle with illness. Nathan was born at home on Elder Hill Road in Driftwood on September 22, 1988. He was named after the prophet, so it’s not surprising he was fascinated by Old Testament prophecy. Nathan had a gift with mathematics and had an aptitude for foreign languages. He kept track of local football statistics and liked working with codes and ciphers. He enjoyed writing poetry, juggling, getting on his HAM radio, playing sports, fantasy football, and 88 (dominoes) with his brothers and cousins. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with an associate’s degree in computer networking from Howard College and later went on to secure a bachelor’s degree. From Driftwood, Nathan moved with his family to Mason, then to Knott, then to Hico. He spent a couple of years in College Station before returning to Hico last year. He will be remembered as a soft-spoken, gentle, loving, and caring young man who was always ready to share with and lend a helping hand to others. He will be missed.

Nathan was one of seven siblings and is survived by three brothers, Abraham (and his wife Amanda), Joshua, and Thomas Leamons and three sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, and Bethany Leamons. He is also survived by his parents, Michael and Janice Leamons of Hico, grandmother, Frankie Leamons of Tow Village, grandfather, John Jackson of Marble Falls, niece, Sadie Leamons, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, at the First Baptist Church of Hico.
