VIGIL SERVICE: 6:00 P.M. Sunday December 3, 2017, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.

VISITATION: 7:00 P.M. Sunday, following the vigil service.

Omega Marie McDonald was born May 27, 1925 in Hasse, Texas. She was a Baptist, born to parents Homer and Maggie Sliger McDonald. Omega was married to George Roque Torres Sr. on July 3, 1944 in Fort Worth Texas. They were blessed with three children, Gloria Darlene, George Roque, and Kathy Sue. Omega was the youngest of 10 children; Earl McDonald, Buster McDonald, Floy Causey, Myrtle Cox, Margarete Mabre, Grace Green, Ory McDonald, Alma Elliott, Shorty McDonald who all proceeded her in death. The picture of Omega Marie McDonald Torres, tells the story of a most loved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and friend to all that knew her. She lived a satisfying and joyful 92 years on Earth, and she continually engaged throughout her years here serving others with her many special characteristics and talents, such as friend, mentor, defender, caregiver and healer, who always provided meals made with love to anyone who came to visit. She was a confidant and peace maker and over all a shining example of what a loving woman should be. Omega is survived by many who loved and cherished her; Her son, George Torres, wife Janice Torres, and their sons, Brent T. Smith & Craig Torres Sr. and his three children, Craig Jr., Danielle and Faith, along with a great grandson, Roman and her eldest daughter, Gloria Davis and her son, Todd Davis. Also her youngest child, daughter Kathy Pogue and husband William ‘Bud’ Pogue, their daughter Ashley Marie Pogue and great granddaughter Amity. Omega likewise leaves behind multiple nieces and nephews residing here in Central Texas, a niece in Florida, Betzy Lee Clark, and brother-in-law, Oscar Roque who resides in Puerto Rico. Omega is preceded in death by her spouse, George R. Torres Sr. MGYSGT (USMC-Retired), who served 30 years in the military, with many years separated from the family overseas in remote locations. George was a combatant Marine in WWII who served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Omega held her family together throughout her husband’s absence by doing what came natural to her, giving unselfish love, and devotion to her children. Additionally, Omega was preceded in death by her daughter Gloria Darlene Davis, her grandson Mark Davis, and grandson William Corey Pogue.
