Tarleton men’s basketball is set to play its first ranked opponent of the season when they welcome in No. 19 Western Oregon for a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, December 12 at 7 p.m.
Each game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the Texans, Byron Anderson, will be calling the play-by-play for Tarleton basketball this season. ABOUT THE WOLVES:
Western Oregon comes in with an 8-1 record overall and 1-1 in the GNAC. Western Oregon started the season 7-0 with its first loss coming against Western Washington. The Wolves are two years removed from playing in the NCAA Division II Final Four in Frisco, where the Texans advanced to the Elite Eight. WOU is averaging 89.6 points on 51 percent shooting while holding teams to 70.6 points and 44 percent shooting. WOU has three players averaging double figures, led by Demetrius Tramell’s 14.6 points off the bench. WOU has seven players who average eight points or more.

Tarleton and Western Oregon are playing for the first time in program history.
LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton went 2-0 last week with wins over Western and Eastern New Mexico. The Texans downed WNMU 85-59 for its largest win of the season. The Texans followed up with a buzzer-beating come-from-behind 68-67 win over Eastern New Mexico where freshman Preston Enloe drilled the game-winning 3-pointer.
