(December 13, 2017) — Hico has climbed to No. 8 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 2A rankings, and the Lady Tigers made believers out of De Leon Tuesday at HHS.

Hico raced out to a 34-7 halftime lead after allowing the Lady Cats just two points in the second quarter. The second half was a mere formality with Hico sailing to a 58-30 win in the districdt opener for each team.

Hico owns two wins over top 20 teams, with its banner victory coming against then No. 5 Tenaha to claim  the championship of a tournament in Lipan.
