LaVonne Jones, 77, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in San Marcos, TX surrounded by her loving husband and daughter. LaVonne contacted a strain of viral encephalitis 18 years ago and never stopped battling the side effects. This journey grew each member of her family in love, grace, and deepened their relationships with God, reminding them that life is precious.
LaVonne was born in Dallas, Texas on December 4, 1940 to Harley L. and Ada (Clayton) Holland. She married her prince charming, Frank Jones, on January 5, 1962, in Dallas, Texas. He NEVER left her side.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Jones; children, Michael Wayne Jones and wife Daphne, Dana K O’Dell and her husband Mike; seven grandchildren, Rachael Jones, Brianna Bledsoe, Tyler Jones, Zachery Jones, Branndon Bledsoe, Joseph Mills, and Jacobe Mills; sister, Nelda Belcher; and brother, Harley L. Holland. Jr.
LaVonne was an amazing cook, and a Proverbs 31 example for all her daughters and granddaughters. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and just being “Gran Gran.” When she wasn’t spoiling her grandchildren, LaVonne found relaxation in gardening and exploring flea markets.
The visitation will be at Lacy Funeral Home on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. with Darrell Brown officiating. The burial will follow at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Jones Mills; and one grandson, Joshua Mills.
