BURIAL: De Leon Cemetery

Betty June Fuller Davis was born to Jessie Lee (Brown) and Lee Roy Fuller on December 16, 1931, in what was called the hollow (pronounced holler), near McClain, Oklahoma. The Fuller family was very fortunate during those Depression years because Roy never once found himself unemployed as did so many of the people of Oklahoma. Eventually, he would rise in status with the oil company from which he retired; however, that was not the case during his younger years, and in order to maintain his $1.00 per day Depression-era salary, Roy was forced to relocate his family, time and time again.

Over the span of 12 years, Betty attended 13 different schools, something that affected her greatly. Already shy, being the new kid time after time took its toll as the young girl became more and more withdrawn. Eventually, it was easier to refuse the offer of friendship in her new schools than it was to have to say goodbye to best friends once again. This reserved personality followed Betty throughout her life.

In about 1950, Roy moved his family to Comanche County, where Betty met Fred Stanley Davis, son of Tina Lee (Stokes) and Marion Frank Davis. The couple was married on July 21, 1951, in Abilene, Texas. Four children were born to this union: Fredda Lee, Stephen Franklin, David Glenn, and Scott Fuller. Betty attended college and graduated with a degree in Psychology. She was a registered nurse and for many years worked at Brownwood Regional Hospital in the I.C.U.

Betty is survived by her husband, Fred Davis of Comanche; children: Fredda and Rickey Jones of Comanche, David and Debbie Davis of Cresson, and Scott and Jessica Davis of Ganado; grandchildren: Dan Davis, Dusty Jones, Julie Jones Young, Devin Davis, Dayne Davis, Daythan Davis, Dillon Davis, Mason Davis, Lawson Davis, Marlee Davis Zuber, Lukas Herring, and Nelya Herring; great grandchildren: Colten and Caden Jones, Presley, Gavin, and Trevin Young, and Adrian Davis. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen, in 1997 and her granddaughter, Mandy, in 1980.
